When you quote the prophet Joseph Smith, you should be careful to be precise. “I go to God and guess what; He teaches me more in 5 minutes than you could learn in 5 million eternities” ? Do you have a reference for that quote? No, because he never said that. I know the quote you’re referencing but that’s not a paraphrase that’s amateurish hyperbole.
You didn’t start talking about polygamy until nearly 8 minutes in to the presentation. You tend to be all over the place in your talks (though they have a great amount of valuable content.) You’d benefit from focusing/organizing your talks more and not talking about what you’re going to talk about and go right into your material.
Thanks for this presentation, Hannah! I always enjoy listening to what you have to say, and this subject is very relevant and something my extended family has been talking about a lot lately.
Thanks for the info, I’ll have to check out the book now.
This is very true…science is never settled, at least in THIS life. There is hypothesis, but that cannot be elevated to theory until and unless it begins to pass experimentation. But it’s still theory. Yet the theory must continue to be experimented on until one experiment disproves it, which, in that case, it then must be thrown out and a new hypothesis arrived at.
Our traditions are a big stumbling block when seeking truth. I am very impressed with Hannah and her pursuit of truth above everything. She reminds me quite a bit of Don Bradley. I trust much of her work because it rings true to me and her mind seems to be open to whatever is found, not to prove or disprove preconceived notions but to uncover truth, a very daunting task for us humans. My next step is to get her book.
