Jesse Fisher – Continuous Prosperity
Continuous Prosperity Through Cooperative Free Enterprise – While reviewing the histories of two wildly-successful “cooperative communities”, Fisher explains how Cooperative Free Enterprise solves most of the downsides of our current, dog-eat-dog, competitive free enterprise system. He then compares those successful communities with the Utah OSR Land Cooperative’s model of an online-but-off-grid, modern homesteading community.
Jesse Fisher, is a BYU graduate in Mathematics Education with a minor in Political Science, Fisher was once described by a former Director of the the Small Business Development Center at UVU as “a real Renaissance Man!”. Fisher has spent a good deal of his spare time during his 4 decades as an adult seeking to understand and implement principles which better approximate a Zion society than those we live by today in our local social institutions – in education, business, and agriculture. Fisher is married with 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren and resides in Utah County.
Fisher, an LDS convert at age 8, became fascinated by the concept of Zion at the age of 15. He is the author of the book “Champions for Zion: Remarkable Teachings on Building Zion by Early LDS Leaders” and is a self-proclaimed “Zionist” (“one who studies and applies Zion principles in their life and encourages others to do so”). His blog, BuildingZion.org, contains much of his thoughts and research on the topic.
